This thread made me think & I still can't put my finger on it. I'm not musical and don't understand the theory and musicality of what I listen to but ...

We saw him a couple weeks ago in The Woodlands and it was weirdly ok. He sounded perfect, great show , very well done but no emotion. He was like a guy with a perfect voice singing, not really stirring any emotion. It was sort of forgettable.

We saw Aaron Lewis a couple months ago at a dumpy Lake Charles casino and it was totally different than Stapleton. Less production quality, a guy with a guitar, that sang in a way you could see the pain on his face & feel it in the crowd. Pain, love , whatever he sang you knew it. He probably missed some notes or something here & there.

Two different experiences for a normal guy like me who really can't tell the difference between a melody or harmony.

I haven't listened to Stapleton a lot, but he's got a great voice, he just wastes it on generic songs. I suppose it has worked for him so far, but it seems he could find better material.

Saw Aaron Lewis at Hard Rock Live in Biloxi years back. Great show.
