This is a binary way to look at it.

Adding QBs to the roster increases the competition level and chances that the ones that stay are the best ones.

Let's say the goal is to keep 3 guys, would you rather start with 3 and just hope they all stay, or would you rather start with 5 and let them compete and try to make sure the best 3 stay?

5 top rated QB's are not going to stay on one team in 2021. Having said that, I think if we have a close QB battle next year between Max and Nuss, whoever doesn't win the job will transfer. Howard is that good and he will start his sophomore year imo.

We’ll, that is why I said that you hope he’s better than the one that transferred in this situation

And I was referring to the “we need depth” post, since it doesn’t necessarily help with depth.

Of course, it also depends on whether Miller fits the system that Kelly runs
