Louisiana ranks 49-50 in just about everything in the USA.

Remember those making the rankings are the ones that get to set the criteria. Louisiana has nothing to be ashamed of. It is a great place and a great culture, unique to the rest of the United States. I've lived in the Midwest for almost 30 years. I've worked in 2 multi-national corporations and I'm currently a partner in a large national law firm. I frequently visit Boston, New York and DC. Louisiana will always be special. It is family, culture, community. The people are generally happy and value what is important in life. Those who are materially successful but unhappy tend to think those who are happy but less materially successful as stupid to make themselves feel better. I'm painting with a broad brush, but I believe there is a lot of truth in those statements. There is no food, no culture, no people like those in Louisiana. We'll keep being who we are and win national championships and the media will just need to deal with that.

Manswers is all over it…
Ive traveled the country and when there is a LA speaker, presenter, or salesperson, the audience cant get enough, they eat it up like gumbo or jambalaya..
b/c We are real/authentic! They are fake and know it! People are so attracted to it because its our human nature, how God made us and its scarce everywhere else but here in LA!
At least thats what ive seen…

Another thing is that Louisiana is different from the rest of the South. We are very diverse,. We are a French/Spanish/Anglo/African American/German culture. We are home to one of the great cities of the world, and that allows us to be exposed to other cultures and ideas, without us going nuts about it, or being shocked by them.

I’ve traveled a good bit, and for the most part, Louisianians are pretty tolerant, and pretty knowledgeable about the world.

Reading the comments of the ND/Big Media on the hiring of Kelley it’s obvious that their knowledge of this state is a mile wide and an inch deep.

1,000% this. I grew up in St. Amant and then lived 11 years in Seattle and now Raleigh… Seattle was miserable and about as unauthentic of a place I’ve ever been. Raleigh is better, but it still doesn’t hold a candle to the overall feel of southern Louisiana.
