This has been rumored for a while.

FWIW the Dallas Stars branding this year has been #TexasHockey with a One Team One State tag line.

Yes, please. I've tried to get into the NHL, in the past, but having a local team may finally be my ticket to actually sticking with it.

I feel like this would go like the Atlanta franchise did. Move the team to Canada.

Those two seasons don’t overlap but maybe a few weeks at best.

Would be nice if they could repurpose the Astrodome for hockey

Cool but not practical with so many reasons for them to be at Toyota with the Rockets

Staples Center and MSG (guessing more) all host both NBA and NHL don't they?

Yea, this has been LONG overdue. Houston wouldn’t be the worst landing spot...far better than Phoenix.

But could they be called the Aeros

I agree. Honor the past successful teams (WHL, AHL). And give Dallas a real rival (seriously, Colorado and St. Louis aren't rivals, while in MLB and NBA the teams are).

An NHL team moving to Houston makes perfect sense

Given that Houston has become Cleveland without the lake effect snow in regards to sports franchises since Michael Jordan decided to stop playing baseball it would make sense they get the Coyotes.
