Why can't Mizzou and Texas A&M just be permanent cross division?

Because Arkansas is the closest campus to Mizzou....And both are already bigger "rivals" than Arkansas and USC.

They can and likely will be. Missou to the east keeps the sec largely unchanged

This. We've only played Mizzou five times in football but we used to have a pretty heated basketball rivarly with them. Based off of that you know the football rivalry would take off quickly. Throw in the fact that there are a lot of Missouri grads living in northern Arkansas and a lot of Arkansas grads living in southern Missouri and it only makes sense to have us play yearly.

Ditto. My wife is from Springfield and her whole family outside of her are Mizzou fans. I would love nothing more to start playing you guys yearly just to get to talk smack around the holidays.

My problem with Arkansas and Mizzou is that seems to benefit Arkansas the most. Not just the game but the distance.

So we shouldn't get Missouri as our permanent opponent because we are closest to them? That doesn't make any sense.

Did you know that USCe is closer to LSU than Mizzou is to LSU? Assuming you have to choose between USC and Mizzou since you want to abandon the Florida game then you should be happy to get USC because its a closer trip.

I don't understand why LSU and UF want out of this game. This has been one of the best rivalries in the last decade. It's only going to get better.

Missouri and Arkansas should be a no-brainer to match up if those schools are in opposite divisions. Arkansas-South Carolina doesn't seem to be particularly special. Missouri may prefer an A&M alignment to continue having games in Texas though, since their recruiting in the Big 12 was aligned that direction.

Every time I see an Arkansas poster talk about Mizzou as a rival I assume you're being sarcastic.

You're saying the "Battle for the Golden Pant Leg" doesn't get you pumped up.

We've paid our dues for 20 years playing Carolina and probably spending more than anybody else in the SEC on travel costs.

I think its ok if we benefit from a decently close game for a change.

We'd love to take Florida. It would open up the states of Florida and Georgia for us.

Just put TAMU in the East. Makes sense.
