98%.. A&M is announcing a move to somewhere by the end of August. The 2% chance is that it's not the SEC.

Yea, if SEC is not going to offer, If I was aTM, I would shop yourself around to Pac10 and Big10. Then SEC has absolutely no choice but to invite you. And that would be one reason this goes fast.

Why would SEC not take A&M? Seems to be more pros than cons, with the exception of who is the 14th team.

FWIW, The Aggie prophet, Billy Liucci, stated that he's 60-70% sure A&M goes to the SEC. But "as close to zero" as possible for A&M to stay in the big12. He's been as good as you get so far throughout this episode.

How long did the Big 10 play with 11 teams? I think the SEC could manage to make it work for 1 year while they add the 14th team.

Big 10 (with 11) didn't have divisions or a championship game...big difference. If Aggies joined the West, every fan base would gripe about having a smaller chance to reach Atlanta.
