Guys,
I just wanted to say it was good hanging with you guys over here this week, this is a very well run site with an excellent group of posters. I plan on sticking around a bit, but it might take a couple of days for the sting of this one to go away. Anyway, thanks for all the feedback and stimulating conversation. I gotta run now, my longhorn neighbor needs his lawn mowed...

And keep your chin up - the longhorns will blow up the Big 12 within the next 5 years

Thanks...I will say this...I have a good friend who is an Aggie, and he is constantly bugging me to create a Texas A&M board/site...don't know when it will happen, but I am guessing it will happen at some point...

Thanks for the words of encouragement, guys. I agree that the new big 12 lite will not last more than a few years, I just hope our admin haven't dicked the dog so bad on this one that we don't have the option to come east when it does.

nah, you're still in Texas and have a large fanbase in Houston and Dallas. I don't think the SEC wanted to expand, but was exploring options in case they had to, if the time comes, they will still look to expand west.

I think the offer will still be there when the time comes again. I also think the SEC reached it's goal this time around. The SEC mainly wanted to prevent a super conf or if it had to keep up with the arms race.

Chicken should have forms if you want to apply for posting privileges on the O-T Lounge. You'll need to complete the form and make duplicates for the review committee. It's a six week process.

I think whatever you may have accomplished in the SEC can be accomplished where you are. I suppose the contract is good enough. You are apparently beloved of the state legislature and not much harm is going to come to you.
