Say whatever you want about the date. It would be cool to always play it on the third saturday(and I don't know why they have problems with it), but I wouldn't mind playing the game anytime during the season (although preferably later rather than earlier).

i have seen this about 50 times. people can't seem to visualize that 6 + 2 = 8 and that 6-2+2=6.

It won't screw AU. If anything, AU is willing to go east just to crew with Bama.

Auburn going east does two things if the one permanent cross division rival game stands: One it makes Bama choose between playing Auburn or Tennessee every year (do you play your in state rival or do you play your long time historic rival every year, can't have both) and two it gives Auburn an edge (at least some say) in recruiting in Georgia and Florida because of the constant exposure.

Do you really believe that's why Bama is trying to preserve the TSIO? Because they want to srew LSU?

I tell you what, if the new pairings were announced, everything was being laid out and they told Bama that they will get to keep their annual Tennessee game, the only changes would be LSU's new permanent rival would be Vandy or Kentucky, don't you dare think Bama wouldnt say "WAAAIT, HOOOOLD UP ONE SECOND". Your delusional.

So you think Bama would just accept a proposal where LSU still has to play Florida but Bama doesn't play Tennessee anymore? If so, you're delusional.

All I'm saying is Bama gets to have their cake and eat it too. Auburn is still having to play Georgia and LSU gets Florida. No offense to Tenn ( i realize yall are one of the big 6 in the conference), but over the last 10 years at least, I don't blame Bama for their preference of Tenn over Florida or even Georgia.

Bama wasn't complaining in the 90's. They won't be complaining if Tennessee is good again.

Masochistic Vols, Bama's rival is Auburn. But by all means, keep your rivalry with them if you must. However, we have no rivalry with Florida.

Right. No way for a team to have more than one rival.

Bama getting their cake and eating it too? Alabama is trying not to lose a 100 year rivalry!!! How frickin hard is that for people to understand?? BTW, Tennessee fans are just as upset about possibly losing the game as Alabama fans are. It doesn't have SH## to do with getting an "easy" cross division game and forcing LSU to play Florida. LSU can play Vandy permanently for all Alabama fans care. News flash: Tennessee was every bit as good as Florida throughout the 90s and early 2000s and they've been WAY WAY WAY better than Florida over the previous decades.

The very definition of having their cake and eating it too is Auburn moving East. They get to keep both the UGA and Bama rivalries, renew their rivalry with Florida and Tennessee, and screw Alabama out of its 2nd biggest rivalry game. LSU playing Florida isn't even remotely on the radar as a reason for Alabama's opposition to Missouri in the West. BTW, we've beaten the Florida team some LSU fans are so terrified of a combined 101 to 28 the last 3 meeting with them. Yea, playing Florida is SOOOOO much more difficult historically than playing Tennessee.

It'd be nice if the Big Ten would step in and ask Mizzou to join them. They'd fit in much better, better travel for the fans, better rivalries with Nebraska, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, etc.

True, then the SEC would have no choice but to go East to add a team and this ridiculous idea of shuffling teams between divisions would end.
