Does it make sense to go 14 and not 16?

It doesn't make sense to me to expand to 14 and turn around and do it all again with 16. Do it and get it done and take your choice of the best candidates.

Agreed. I say Va tech and stay there. let everyone else go to 16 and beat themselves up in conference.

Yes imho. I don't understand why conferences that expand HAVE to get to 16. It's not like the other conferences would leave the SEC or another league out of a playoff if they had only 14 teams while they had 16 teams. I STILL haven't heard anyone explain to me the magic of four 16 team super conferences. How is that any better than a 14 team conference? Makes no sense to me whatsoever.

I think they like the 4X16, because it gives the 64 teams...just like march madness.
I don't get it either, but it is what they all talk about.
When the aTm announcement the the SEC is made, all talk show hell is going to break loose. Is it 14 teams, 16 teams, what other conferences expand, which conference goes away....blah, blah, blah.
It will be a great season!

I think we should stay at 14 for a long time.
16 is too much for a football conference.

14 for the forseeable future. I think 16 works for a playoff but a playoff isn't going to happen imo. Too many people don't like the idea of 1 winner and everybody else at the end of the year is a loser.
