I was bored... kids went down early and so did the wife. Unfortunately, there's not a multitude of great candidates for OC.

I researched the 2016 Broyles Award for TOP Assistant Coaches:

LINK

There was ONE offensive coordinator who stuck out: Matt Canada (Pittsburg)... All of the others were guys who have NO SHOT at LSU. *** I did notice some special team guys nominated and saw LARRY PORTER. He's listed for Special Teams and Recruiting Coordinator. lol.

Also, I looked at the coordinators that were nominated for the award in 2014 and 2015 and the guys I thought were possible hires were:
Kendal Briles (Baylor) - Lincoln Riley (Oklahoma) - Doug Meachem (TCU)

.... After that I researched THIS YEAR's current TOP 30 Offenses in the Country. Surely the OC's in this category would be awesome?!
LINK

NOPE!!! Feel free to search the many current stats presented. It's interesting.

But most of the "high powered" offensive are run by the Head Coach with NO NAME OC's... Guys LSU will NOT hire.
See: Texas Tech, Louisville, Toledo, Tulsa, La Tech, USF, West Virginia, Clemson, W. Kentucky, Western Michigan, Wash State, Oregon, Washington, Bise State, FSU, New Mexico, Navy, Colorado, and Southern Cal)

The only guys I found that are TRULEY running the offense: (current rank in order of TOTAL OFFENSE)
#3 Lincoln Riley - Oklahoma (2015 Broyles Award Finalist) *$850k Salary
#4 Kendal Briles - Baylor ( 2015 Broyles Award Finalist) $250k Salary
#8 Middle Tenn - Tony Franklin
#11 CAL - Jake Spavital
#15 Missouri - Josh Heupel
#16 Okla St - Mike Yurcich
#18 TCU - Doug Meachem (2014 Broyles Award Finalist)
#20 Texas - Sterlin Gilbert
#23 Alabama - Lane Kiffin
#24 Ohio State - Tim Beck
#26 Southern Miss - Shannon Dawson

So..... You tell me who Coach O goes after?!

Of course, we like the idea of Lane or Sarkisian... but if they are a NO GO... It's looking like Lincoln Riley at the TOP or Little Briles and Big Briles as a consultant..... After that.... You tell me!

If we're going for a complete staff of catastrophic SEC coaching failures he's our man.

The majority of those names are under the Air Raid Tree. That is a testament to how deadly that system is.

Tony Franklin sells "The system" to HS coaches for a pretty penny. And by penny I mean thousands

I like to watch the AR offense but I would lean more towards a balanced Spread ala OSU, Houston MSST and now UT

Cant question the results

Yep give me power spread over Air Raid any day/every day

Even Holgorsen has adopted much more of a balanced power spread compared to the air raid he used to run

If you miss on Kiffin you offer Lincoln Riley 1.5 million and make him say no. I like the power spread that Baylor runs especially with our athletes but I don't know how much stink Baby Briles has on him or if he is just being dragged along by his father's coat tails.

I would love to see the proper veer and shoot Briles offense though...his OL were bigger than (IRCC) every OL in the SEC.

But that isn't happening.

The numbers aren't astounding, but Joe Moorhead is probably the best in the game. You can't really overstate how terrible Penn State's offense was last year. Seriously.

The fact that we can score 17 points per game is a miracle, but we're around 40 ppg.

Watch last year, and then watch this year after Minnesota. It's incredible

yup. there's a reason most air raid defenses suck, they're on the field all the time.

Yea it's deadly all right, deadly for QB's who want an NFL career and deadly for SEC teams who've tried to use it.

Hell, why didn't you just hire Mike Leach is just go full blown pirate?
