You have a coach now.....his name is Ed Ogeron. This his audition for the gig and lets say he finishes 7 and 1 or 6-2 where the losses are very close and the overall spirit and performance on both sides of the is vastly improved. Would Tiger nation be happy with him getting the full time job?

Look at the current LSU roster.
He needs to have that team playing up to their considerable talent to even get considered, and even then, he's not any rational individuals #1 choice.

We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
For now, I'd hope this school is fundraising to offer Herman whatever it'll cost to get him to LSU.

I would.
Of course I would pick Herman like everyone else but if he is off the table and the bridge has been burned with Jimbo, then what?
There are good coaches out there LSU could take a chance on but if Coach O goes 6-2, team playing good, has a plan for the offense in the offseason, keeps the defensive staff, then I'm ok with it.
The one thing I like that I've heard is he made no excuses for Ole Miss. He said he made mistakes, learned from them, and will do things differently.

Les won many a game on talent alone. Why couldn't O do this also? He has to be a better coach than Les was at x's and o's. Give him a fair shake. If it doesn't work out then remove him, but I have a great feeling O is going to prove people wrong

To go 7-1 or 6-2, LSU will have to out score the Black Bears, bama, the aggies, even the hawgs. And those teams score a LOT. Not happening. Games should be competitive but if it's a shoot out, no way does he win out.

For everyone in here saying he would have to win out and win a championship....that 7-1 or 6-2 with a spirited and competitive team that vastly improved since he took over......I hope you hold the new guy that gets picked over him to that same standard next year....If Coach O has to do that this year...I would expect Hermann or whoever to win it all next year!!!
