Would you be willing to take the recruiting hit for Del Rio?

If LSU were to hire Jack Del Rio, then he probably couldn't coach until mid-January, maybe even February if they make the Super Bowl (unlikely, I know). But anyway, recruiting would likely take a hit this season if Del Rio were hired.....would that be acceptable?

Yes many times over. Most of this class has already committed anyway.

this year in La.? yea why not. Besides if we knew Del Rio is in place you could still make calls to ensure them a good coach is on the way

if we have to sacrifice rocky duplessis I'll be ok

People that think we would take a recruiting hit if we hired Del Rio don't follow recruiting very closely.

If it's announced, I can live with Crowton being retained under a special contract (with a commensurate increase in pay) to act as interim head coach and recruit on behalf of Del Rio as the announced, but otherwise occupied in the NFL playoffs, permanent head coach.

Certainly Crowton will have the opportunity to stay if we hire a defensive coach like Del Rio, Cowher, Schiano, or whoever.

i dont want him period, he is a nfl coach. and i remember some commentators saying how he isnt very strict on his players and lets his players control and parole themsleves. we cant have that at LSU. RP is going to be our qb next year.

Don't be sure about it with JDR. His assistant in a CFB guy who just came off a HCing position at Arizona St. I think he would like to come back with JDR.

recruiting would not take a hit with jdr, if anything it would improve once the recruits hear about it. and the announcement will come before signing day regardless if jax is in the playoffs or not.

Although I doubt your premise, yeah, I'd be ok with it.

Here is a sample of a JDR recruiting call from a source I got off of Ebay-

I'm sorry I can't speak to you face to face at this time. I promise I will get on a plane as soon as my season is done. If you are not doing anything this Sunday check us out against the Chargers.

In the mean time let me tell you a little bit about my self. I was an all-american linebacker, played in the NFL for 10 years, coached Ray Lewis and the linebacker core in history to the Super Bowl run, I was then a DC for the Panthers and followed that up by being the head coach for the Jags and led them to multiple play off appearances.

I know what it is like to be a college and NFL player and I know what it takes to get to the NFL. I can help if that is your goal.

Would you like to play for me?

Your really think Crowton is interested in coaching offense in the big-10?

i dont think we would take a hit in recruiting, but our position coaches would have to do alot of it... porter was the recruiter of the year last year and im sure crowton could also do a pretty good job

I suspect Del Rio could do a little recruiting over the phone as well.

not to mention he would probably put his coaching staff in place, so they could start recruiting.
