I really view Chavis as a far more conservative DC than anything Saban has ever had. I do not see this meshing. Although, he did hire Kiffin, who we all thought were polar opposites.

No, Saban coordinators are young, energetic and bang up recruiters.

If he did, this site would cease to exist because the servers would literally melt. Literally.

It would?

Chavis teaches an aggressive defense. He likes his defensive linemen to get up field and disrupt plays. Saban teaches a more disciplined defense. Control the line of scrimmage, let linebackers make plays.

There is literally no way this happens.

Absolutely. The only things they would have to work around are scheme, personnel requirements, personalities, recruiting, halftime adjustments, third & long, the mustang package and the ability to stop teams at the end of the half & game. Other than those things it could be a great fit.

Yep. While Chavis has been a very successful coordinator he is almost the exact opposite as what Saban does at bama.

Nice bait

Saban would never hire an established defensive coordinator with a reputation. If you think he's resistant to change on the offensive side, that's nothing compared to his defensive control.
I could just envision the first coaches meeting; it would end with Saban screaming "shut up and get out", and likely having a stroke

He hired John Thompson, who had been around the block a little bit as a DC, when he first came to LSU. That was the only time I've seen a coordinator quit before spring ball. He took a demotion to a Co-DC just to get away. Saban LITERALLY made that arse quit.

So yeah, Saban and established DCs don't mix.

I don't think so. They recruit different type
LB's and scheme wise just fundamentally different. I doubt Saban changes everything after success for so long.

They have completely different ways of going about it. Look at the size of the linebackers that Chavis wants compared to Saban.

I would think so. Chief has had a brilliant career. It won't happen because Saban likes the guys that can push themselves 18 hours a day like him but absolutely Chavis would be awesome. Watched him for over 20 years now and he's been amoung the top DC's in the country.
