Anyone who melts over Will Wade is an idiot. The guy had Cam Thomas, Tari Eason, Darius Days, Trendon Watford, and a ton of other guys who will be relevant in the league and he still lost 10+ basically every year.
He literally cannot recruit better than he did at LSU and he still didn’t come remotely close to fielding a consistent deep-tourney-run program. And his recruiting “ability” basically stemmed from the fact that he was openly and shamelessly paying players as much as possible to come here and told the NCAA “come get me”, which they did. He’s not going to have the same recruiting advantages if he does return to the SEC, nor can he coach particularly well, and the NCAA is going to be jammed up his arse for the remainder of his career. Let him go to Ole Miss and watch how that turns out

LSU had one NCAA appearance in 9 seasons before he got there and he won the SEC championship with a team who still made the sweet 16 in his second year and the team was consistently good. You wanna bitch and act like his tenure was some terrible epoch for not making deep NCAA tourney runs every year. No program in the SEC does that consistently.

The same people who criticized him for playing street ball are also anointing him among the games elite minds. The guy was a poor developer of the elite talent he recruited.

He definitely was overrated but better than what we had for I don't know how long. Never would've sniffed a final 4 with him as coach though even with all the talent he got.
I certainly would take him over the idiot we have now but tRant acted like we had an amazing coach who really wasn't that special. It was just that LSU basketball has been garbage forever.

He's my #1 choice with Will Wade (assuming he's cleared by NCAA / no show cause) as a clear #2. After that just roll the dice with a promising mid major.
Or go all in on the Michigan / Memphis former player route and hire Marshall Henderson.

I hope he gets cleared and lands another job. Obviously it will suck if it’s Ole Miss, but LSU really screwed up by not standing by him. They should have let the process play out.

The pmac was a tomb before he got there and it’s a tomb again. Yeah he didn’t make a final four, but he had lsu as a consistent tourney team and he made the program exciting. That’s not easy to do.

SEC refs would be out with guns blazing lol. They hated him before. Can you imagine if he comes out of this clean? Lord he will get screwed every game as blatantly as you’ll ever see

So Wade recruits some NBA bench players (Darius Days has like 4 NBA minutes in his illustrious career) and that means he should challenge for the national title every season?
