Will there seriously be fans against Orgeron if he goes 7-1 & beats Bama?

There's a lot of anti-O talk on here. I get that some of it is mainly to calm expectations of those who want him hired right now.

But if he goes 7-1 the rest of the way & beats Bama, will he not have won everyone over at that point? If not, is there anything he could do this year to win everyone over?

As an Auburn fan I hope he gets hired.

No...

Some people want a big name hire. As a top 5 program, even if you do not agree, you can see their point.

No. I really don't want him as the HC. I don't want Ole Miss's sloppy seconds.

If he wins the SEC west then he will be the coach. If not then we will hire another coach. Its really that simple.

Oh I totally get it. I don't agree with it at all but I get it.

8-0 gets him the job, no doubt. 7-1 maybe.

I will be thrilled that he performed so well in an interim position. But his history tells me that he is not a good HC, and 8 games does not prove otherwise.

I like O, and i look forward to hiring him as HC in 5+ years after he's gone to a smaller school and dominated.

It is Coach O's job to make it hard to overlook him as an option. It is LSU's job to find a better option.

O just seems to be a short term solution with his high energy approach. His last full time head coaching gig was less than steller. If he wants a job like LSU he needs to prove he can be a long term guy. LSU is not a training ground just to see if he's learned from mistakes in the past.

Well, yeah. There will be fans against any hire, no matter who it is. Just the way it is.

ETA: And I'm not saying that's right or wrong. There are just people who want [insert coach name here] and if another coach is hired, they won't like it necessarily.

I think the only way fans will be 100% behind him is if he runs the table and we at least make the playoff. Other than that there will be haters proclaiming that we deserve better. I think Coach O realizes that if he doesn't beat Bama any shot he has at being HC goes right out the window.
