They would be hard pressed to find anyone better. And to change just to have "your guy" seems trivial since good assistant coaches come and go so often.

They would probably love to. I think the better question is would he want to stay?

I need to see more of a sample size from Aranda in the SEC before I make judgement.

He could be great but we shall see.

Why is everyone so impressed with Aranda so far. LSU is a whopping 35th in total defense right now.

Jury is still out on him imo. Don't give me the offense had them on the field all the time mess. The tackling has been atrocious at times, lots of blown coverage and they have looked soft as hell on the line.

He and Herman were roommates, so the answer is probably yes if we get Herms

1 touchdown in 4 games with team learning a new system.

when adjusted for P5 only, as that stat always should be, LSU is 15th in yards per game

cfb stats

and 13 in yards per play

cfb stats

were 3rd in the SEC. chavis, btw, is 12th

cfb stats

for yards per play, were 2nd. chavis is 7th.

Those "high powered" offenses we face.

#59, 62, 75th place offenses in the country

The D also just changed completely from what they were doing. They're learning a completely new scheme. Not sure why you think the defense being out there too long, due to offensive woes, isnt legitimate to you. That is a pretty big deal

That and the fact that we have a punter who consistently gives our opponents a short field. Averaging 32 yards a punt against Wisconsin and 37 yards against Auburn (with an automatic FG kicker) has really hurt us more than fans realize.

I mean, they were on the field for at least 2/3's of the game, and those stats are 1/4 based off of our performance. MSU and Wisconsin actually have decent offenses, while I do agree Auburn is atrocious.

Same story though. If our offense can't produce, then our defense looks worse than it actually is, and no matter how good it actually is, we can't win games without points.

I'm not saying the defense is terrible, just not as impressed as others are so far. Whisky and Auburn games the defense got abused.

The fact that they haven't given up a touchdown with the amount of times that the opposing team has started within 10 yards of the 50 is astounding in its own right. Our punter averaged what? 33 yards a punt against auburn

You're going to have headaches when switching schemes. Maybe your expectations were a little too high, I personally think the defense is progressing faster than I thought it would with the switch. This defense is much better than Steeles defense last year who also had the blown coverage issues.

Herman has a guy as good as Aranda at Houston. May bring him with him if her comes.
