Very seldom do I post here but I do lurk all you frickers. So serious question.....

Why do we have to make a coaching change now? What about all these other schools with decent coaches? Have we exhausted them all and down to these? Just seems a bit forced to this weekend. What about Patterson.....Peterson......Leach (a reach) .......western Michigan guy......just feel like we are forcing ourselves to commit to this weekend when we have time to shop. I'm actually good with all 4 options at some level. All have various pros....and what they could bring. But why does this seem so urgent to this weekend?

I think they are worried about recruiting. The dead period starts in 2 weeks and they want to get some official visits in. That said a coach is more important than any recruiting class.

Yes, dead period. We want a coach in place ready to go for recruiting. Herman, please god Herman!

The do it "now" aspect is to put pressure on jimbo/Herman. The "great interview" by O adds more pressure on those guys. If they don't get one of their top 2 guys, they'll move on to others quickly.
