He has had two really good years at UH. But look at what Strong did at Louisville, 37-15 and 23-3 in his last two years. Seems like with their unlimited funds they would be going after a more proven coach - like we are said to be with Fisher.

Strong was never gonna succeed at Texas. He didn't have the mindset to deal with all those dickwad boosters and I don't blame him.

U-Texas thinks they invented college football and the game wouldn't continue without them. Herman's the young upcoming name and has Texas ties and proven success...I never seen such a self entitled, arrogant fan base. F-TEXAS

IMO Texas only hired Strong to counter A&M's black coach. I'm not saying that Strong was not qualified but the biggest factor was his skin color and that did not sit well with some of the BIG money guys.

Big 12 is all about offense so on that level it makes more sense to go with a spread minded coach.

It's stupid that you're posting this thread, hoping that UT can talk itself out of Herman, just so LSU can get him...

Herman is a good Coach. You never know how things will turn out. I listened to ESPN Tallahasee radio yesterday. They are seemed indifferent about JF. They are not satisfied with latest 2-3 loss seasons. Yet we can't wait to get him here

FIFY

...oh. And, IN for Herman.

I'd bet on it.

Unless they're total fricktards (also possible), they don't want a repeat of 3 years ago.

Because they're a short-sighted school.
