Don't turn this into a shite thread. Really break it down. I just don't see Jimbo that great of a coach.

Why hasn't he won more ACC titles?
Made the Playoff's
Why is he available.

I just not the WOW factor. I think he is another 9 win a year coach.

There's actually pretty good reasons that folks are "hard up" for Jimbo.

You tell me why folks are so hard up for Coach O. That's the better question.

He knows how to develop quarterbacks. I also think a change of scenery will do him good.

I believe he's won 4-5 ACC titles. What more do you want?

Name 5 active coaches with better resumes than jimbo? You're not getting saban, meyer or harbaugh. LSU is going after the best available HC and that is jimbo.

Is a national championship coach not good enough? Having coached several first round qb's not good enough?

He won 3 in a row.

Only he knows the answer. But it's been said he loved his time at LSU and he's grown tired of FSU.

He's only had one 9-win season in Tallahassee, which was his 2nd season.

He is the real deal and will make LSU a consistent top 10 team that will make the playoffs every 2-3 years.

so this dude starts a thread about fisher and thinks he's not the answer bc he might be just a 9 win coach yet he's all in for someone that was a 4 win coach in his only stint.

Look at how stagnant Florida St was with Bowden

Seriously go look at Bowden's last few seasons and then look what Jimbo immediately did with them

He then went two straight seasons undefeated

The ACC is actual better than you give credit and has two top 5 or so teams now not named FSU

The main thing is he can develop a passing game and still feature a tremendous rub

I still prefer Herman but love either

He's winning. Beating every SEC foe except Bama. Restored enthusiasm to the program. Seems to have a vision for success. Excellent recruiter. Yet, none of this matters to many.

I don't know. But he's going to be our coach.

I am not a fan of Fisher, and its just a personal opinion it has no real content behind it... I won't lie.

I got a text today from a friend of mine that did the whole "My boss is close with an LSU insider and the deal for Fisher has already been set in place and it'll be $8 mil a year" blah blah stuff.

If its true, cool... If not, even better. But there is no point in everyone speculating about something that is still months out.

He is also competing in a state with 2 other major programs for recruits. Not to mention all the other programs from different states that have taken a lot of Florida players, yet he still gets too 10 classes every year. He will bring us top 3 classes every year and it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't get #1 classes back to back a few years.

Add that to the fact that he will recruit and develop greats QBs (the main thing LSU has been lacking for years now) and you have yourself a team that could easily be playoff bound every year.

It's not that it isn't recognized, it's just such a small sample size compared to a coach like Fisher. O's HC resume on the whole rightfully scares some of us. Do you think if we really believed he was the best man for the job we'd be against him just for the hell of it?
