Why has Youngstown st. sucked so hard recently?

Not a Pelini bash thread. I don’t watch the penguins at all but they are not good and haven’t been since his second year there.

People talk about Nebraska before and after but if you do that, I think you have to consider his track record at his current school which is not impressive.

Anyone follow that school with insight?

No, but it's been proven time and time again that lack of success as a head coach does not equate to lack of success as an assistant coach.

The skill set requirements are different.

I would imagine it's a nightmare to recruit in Ohio with so many D1 programs plus Pitt, Marshall and WVU being so close to Youngstown.

North Dakota and North Dakota State have almost twice the budget of Youngstown.

He’s the head coach, not the defensive coordinator......huge difference.

At the FCS level, that conference is top, Youngstown doesn't have the talent to compete.
