Riley, Helfrich and Briles have been thrown around as possibilities.

I thought you were going to say who's next after Coach O gets fired.

I'm guessing Helfrich because that's who Grimes wants

I was hoping we would have someone in place by the end of the week, but I am slowly losing hope for that.

Norv Turner is out of work. Very good with QBs and I am sure he would come for the money we would pay assistants.

At this point in this raging dumpster fire who expect an OC to be named so soon. Coach O is in clearly over his head.

Funny you mention it. I wonder if these OC candidates are interviewing O as much as he is interviewing them? Despite money, they may view him as a risk or as an idiot.

This. What many employers fail to consider is that, while you are sitting there conducting an interview with a potential employee, you are also being interviewed as a potential employer. After that total crap show of a "coaching search" and knowing the HC's history, how is LSU gonna impress a potential top quality OC candidate?

People who are talented and/or determined enough to be an offensive coordinator at a major college don't turn down millions of dollars because they don't like the head coach.

They might not turn the job down because they don't like the head coach, but they damn sure might turn the job down if they feel the job has no security and the AD is Alleva.

bullshite. I could argue just the opposite. That head coach has direct impact on the trajectory of that person's career. Intelligent people are playing the long game...not the here and now.

I guarantee you that a top OC looking at LSU is going to want to know if he will get blamed for failures of the head coach, and be a scapegoat for those who don't want to get rid of Orgeron.

Alleva:

List? What list?

We tried our guy okay and it didn't work just give the job to uh...that guy (pointing indiscriminately at group of LSU students)

Never forget Aranda came to work for Leslie Edwin Miles, a guy with 1/3 the IQ of Aranda and who was on a hot, hot, hot seat.
