What teams are looking for in a college coach these days?

Are schools looking for a recruiter/motivator or is a game day X and O's coach required?

Preferably both. But X and Os guy is the better option of the two.

Agreed. Recruits will come as wins mount unless the coach is a complete a-hole. Just look at guys like Briles, Gundy, O'Leary.
However, I'd take a great recruiter who hires good assistants and allows them the freedom to run their sides of the ball (i.e. Miles).
