What has Jimbo really done?

I'm really not convinced he is the missing piece to the puzzle. There is no way he is going to come in here and do any better than Miles. He will win and have the same results albeit in a different fashion but we will continue to be a 9-10 win team.
I honestly believe if you took jimbo and FSU and put them in the sec they would be aTm/Sumlin clones. Winston ~ Manziel. Only thing that makes him look so good is that conference/schedule every year!
Have you ever seen saban drummed the way fsu just was? How many times have you seen that with a Miles coached team? Not many! Yet we expect this guy to come in and go tow to tow with the elite of the elite every single year?!
I guess I'm missing something here. Please help me feel better about our very realistic coaching candidate.
ETA: hope im not putting too much emphasis on that one game. That's not the only thing that makes me feel this way, just a relevant example

I think one thing that a lot of people are missing when it comes to Jimbo is that at FSU he had limited funds for assistants. If you look at FSU these last 2-3 yrs he has had an underwhelming DC. FSU wouldn't match what UGA gave Pruitt so he left. Put Jimbo at LSU with top-flight assistants and I think you are looking at a great 10 yr run. Jimbo is an ace recruiter, good player caller, and great QB developer. Combine that with the staff he could surround himself with at LSU....

he has won a n.c. for starters (three years ago) played in the playoff's a second time. Had a 24 game winning streak. yeah, he hasn't done much.

Saban and Miles have both been embarrassed over the years by inferior coaches and teams. It happens.
But I forget the expectations of this board. Apparently you have to go undefeated every year to be considered for the LSU job.

Who Miles? Oh you mean Jimbo out of the ACC. K

Look its simple. You're over thinking things way too much.
Jimbo can develop QB's. 4 first round QB's. His offense is also dynamic and balanced.
To say this
Whenever he will have the same great defense with a better offense and a QB that he will personally develop for success in that offense IS ONE OF THE DUMBEST F*CKING THINGS I'VE EVER READ ON THIS SITE.
You need to get your f*cking head checked.

Other than actually finish an undefeated regular season and win the title with a freshman qb? Or finish the following regular season undefeated and make the playoffs?
I mean, not much.

Here's your problem. There isn't another Saban coach in the country. Only Urban comes close, and we can't have either. Jimbo is in that next tier of college coaches, though, and is attainable.

- Developed 4 QBs to be 1st round picks, and doing good with a freshman currently.
-Has a stellar ACC record. Has a title and a playoff appearance.
-A big reason for the defensive woes is that FSU isn't willing to pay for assistants (like an elite DC) which wouldn't be a problem here seeing as we made Cam the highest paid OC in the nation.
-Also the transition to LSU would be smoother for him than anyone else due to familiarity with the school and the area (except for Coach O, but Fisher is infinitely more of a proven commodity than Coach O).
-Would probably be here long term, I don't think he'd bolt for the pros or anywhere else if he landed here.
There are risks with any candidate, there isn't a single prospect that is a 100% sure thing, but Fisher has more going for him than pretty much any other option. Herman is about the only option that rivals him as far as I'm concerned, but Fisher has a longer resume of building and maintaining an historically relevant program at a high level, which is what puts him above Herman for me.

honest question...where do you people come from?

Never mind the fact that he's coached/developed 4 first round draft pick qbs.

We would be very fortunate to get Jimbo...if you don't get that, then you don't get college football son

For starters I would stop basing your opinion off of their low point unless there is a concerning trend. I'm much more worried about how good they've been.
Also, Jimbo's issues have been on the defensive side of the ball - something that is historically strong at LSU.
He's also an elite recruiter, something that cannot afford to skip a beat with Saban in the division.
