There were several "Insider" threads around on Sunday that said Miles would announce a retirement on Monday and that a "shocking" and "exciting" new coach would be announced that would change the landscape of the SEC West.

Still waiting.

But regardless of what happens, LSU has mangled this transition. You don't leak to the press that the winningest SEC coach of the last 15 years is fired. Then have everything up in the air like this.

It's JV. Reminds me of the Boone/Cutcliffe standoff that ushered in the Orgeron/Nutt eras at Ole Miss. Except here, the stakes are higher. And more people are watching.
