Recruit? - doubtful
Hire great coordinators? - tbd, but doubtful
Let his coaches do their job? - resounding no
Manage the clock? - no
Prepare the players? - no
Understand when a coach isn't getting it done and take action. - tbd, but trending to no
Manage the media? - no
Be there for his players? - maybe, but tbd and probably a wash
Run a clean program - hmmm, tbd, but hope O is up to the task

Feel free to add anything.

So essentially, if he is no worse than Miles and that is the floor, we just may be ok. I'm looking to be a positive.

Based on their careers, I'd say win football games.

Not win less than 30% of his games the 1st time he runs a program full time.

Honestly I don't think Coach O does many of those things better than Miles either. That's the problem. It's a wash with a less proven history.

The main difference appears to be the hardware.

Miles has one crystal football, two SEC titles, and at least one additional SECw title.

Orgeron doesn't have any of that yet but did well as an interim here and in USC.

IF the idea was to hire a coach that loses at home to Bama and drops a couple random SEC games, why not keep Miles, at least you know he has historical upside.

Miles was fired.

Run down the list and say which of those attributes you think O will be let's say a top 25 coach in? Recruiting and managing the media through propaganda? Pre game rah rah? What else?

You can tell the weakness of an argument by the hypotheticals that have to be invoked, especially when they are accompanied by lies and lowered expectations.

Respectively the hypothetical is "if he is no worse than Miles" when that seems unlikely from his history.

The lie is "that is the floor" when we saw a lower floor from Orgeron at Ole Miss

And the lowered expectation is "we might be ok"

So you think there is no inherent advantage to being at LSU post Saban vs Ole Miss post cutcliff?

True but lsu is a way different and better program than ole miss was at the time O was there. Based on that alone, O should do much better here.

The point of firing Miles WAS TOO GET SOMEONE BETTER. Also,Miles' resume ,before he ever stepped on lsu's campus, shits on ed Orgeron's resume.

I wish we'd do away with this shite. This is the same thinking that got people believing coaches like Saban, Harbaugh, and Meyer would make lateral moves from successful programs because "LSU is just that great a program."

Les miles took over a program with 1 winning season in 14 years and had the winning 9 games. Ed orgeron took over a better situation at ole miss and ran it into the fricking ground

There seems to be an advantage to being at Ole Miss pre Orgeron and post Orgeron. But feel free to only use Mile's record at Oklahoma State. Same result.
