What do you think about Malzahn to Auburn?

...got a sneaking feeling malzahn may be the leading candidate for auburn. he knows the players and the admin knows his capabilities well.
malzahn will likely claim the sunbelt conference title this season at arkansas state in his first year as a d1 head coach, which bodes well on his resume. malzahn took over an experienced bunch of players at arkansas state that freeze had assembled, but the core of that group will graduate this season, leaving malzahn to rebuild a tier 2 d1 program.
pretty sure if offered, malzahn will accept the job.
how receptive are auburn fans to the thought of malzahn retuning as head coach?

I don't think Gus would go to AU, at least not right now.

So this isn't information just a guess?
I'd be disappointed.
I'd be disappointed.

it's not the sexist hire on earth, but it is a great hire. it's the one i would make if i were auburn.
shite, he is the man who won your NC game he was teh HC in everything but name. all you are doing is basically giving him the title already had.
put it this way, in 2011 he had the worst year he will ever have as a head coach and still won the chic fil a bowl with auburn.
he knows the players, he had yeldon all but locked down utnil he left, this is the perfect fit for auburn if they want to get it turned aroud quickyl

no, not information. not even really a guess. just for discussion.

...that was personal thoughts. I never said "I guarantee". i couldn't see anyone wasting 7.5 million, but that was also before someone said that auburn had earmarked 18 million to sh!tcan chizik.
you know, i use forums for gathering info a lot more than i do for providing info. this wasn't a prediction. where did i say anything close to "I predict"? some of you guy's reading comprehension skills are in the cellar.

I believe the exact words were

I'll eat the crow if i am{Wrong about keeping his job}

i'll take that bet.
auburn isn't going to pay the 7 million dollar buyout it would take to send chizik walking.
And I thought Gus Malzahn was going to Arky? at least that what you said as well

no way unless it's viewed by the AD as a Dooley while we get hammered with sanctions
not saying that will happen but I can't see Gus back there, not yet anyway

...i listed the no-brainer reasons i thought malzahn should be the logical choice for arkansas. i never said he was going to be hired. there is a big difference.
go back and re-read the thread.

...so serve me my crow. i like my crow served on a bisquit with mustard on it.
i don't think it was terribly far removed from reality to be skeptical of someone paying 7.5 million to give a coach his walking papers. afterall, it is an unprecedented record amount of money paid out to fire a coach. which leaves me to wonder just exactly how money smart the admin isn't there at auburn.
