I've heard one of the orangebloods guys, Chip Brown I think, talk about this. He said in addition to the opportunity to eventually take over the program and get paid as well as coaches at lower level D1 schools in the interim, his wife loves Austin and doesn't want to move again regardless of what other jobs come along. They moved 4 times in 5 years so I could see this playing a part in his decision to stay.

I think he would also leave for a LSU or Oklahoma. Macks new contract runs through 2016 and there is no guarantee he will retire then. Plus, to my knowledge details of a buyout if he is not named HC have not been released so I assume it doesn't exist.
I don't think he could turn down LSU, GA, or OK if they came calling in the next couple of years.
