Not a prediction, just spitballing like everyone else.

Maybe he makes a Saban-esque move and jumps ship on the Giants (who are stuck with Daniel Jones) before a bad situation gets him fired? I do believe he has a good football mind.

*Won a natty at Alabama

*Been successful in the NFL as an OC, helped develop Josh Allen

*Young-ish at 48

*Won 5 Super Bowls with the Pats

*Charismatic

*Coach of the year in this first season with the Giants

To add to the speculation, A flight from Tuscaloosa that flew to Athens, GA this morning (maybe to interview Schumann?) is scheduled to fly back at 3:30 this afternoon and is scheduled to go to New Jersey tomorrow morning.

Daboll might be finding out his personality as a head coach would be a better fit in college

What about Joe Judge? Worked under Saban before.

Unless he gets fired he isn’t leaving the NFL. No one in their right mind would leave a NFL coaching job for a college job (even Bama). This only could mean one thing. Greg Schiano.

hopefully, we get a couple of decades of Alabama turning over every rock trying to find the guy with the most connections to Saban as they did the bear.

IDK, I'm with you that the NFL is a better job right now. But I also feel like its a harder job to keep, and you have less control over your situation. Maybe if he sees the writing on the wall there and convinces himself that there are some NIL/Transfer Portal reforms coming (which is possible) that will make coaching in college less of a pain.

With another year like this year he will be on the hot seat if he isn't fired, and a lot of the issues aren't really on him.

Didn't he just win coach of the year last year? I think is an NFL guy at heart...

Yeah, its a longshot. But I could see Bama making this type of hire, even if it isn't necessarily Daboll.

I understand that but he was an NFL guy before Bama and went straight back to the Bills. I know a lot of people on this message board are biased towards CFB, but the NFL is a 10x better job than being a head man in college. You don’t have to recruit, do spring ball, answer to boosters, and deal with 18-22 year old kids.

Oddly enough, there is precedence for Bama hiring from the Giants after a legend retired.

I get it, but that isn't really the question though. He could be thinking of it in terms of College job next year (2025) vs no job next year instead of college vs NFL. If he were just absolutely killing it with the Giants and they were competing I don't think its even a question.

If he can't keep some guy named Wink happy he is going to have a wonderful time with Bama fans.
