I'll give Allen kudos for a couple decent games but we're still bottom of the barrel in terms of defense. How about Gus Bradley for that position?

Allen is an excellent DC with HC experience.

Issue with the Saint's defense is talent, not scheme.

Saint's have cycled through plenty of DC's and I've thought it was scheme previously, but it is very clearly a talent deficit on that side of the ball.

2 #1 draft picks injured before the season started. A secondary that probably wouldn't start at any other team in the country and are talking about the coach?

Saints problems are in the front office, not the coaching staff.

This is a thread for the Saints board, until Allen gets fired. IMO, of course.

As another poster pointed out, it's talent, not scheme that is the problem. The Saints D has been depleted ever since they were forced to pay Drew the big bucks. Add in a couple of bad contracts along the OLine and you end up with no cap space to bring in Defensive talents. They've tried going through the draft and have swung and missed on quite a few first and second round picks. The only 2 to work out in the Saints favor since the super bowl have been Cam Jordan and (arguable) Vacaro. They need cap space. Plain and simple.

The fact that Allen has turned the talent we have available to anything resembling a defense is remarkable. He is most certainly not the issue. Loomis is the one who deserves scrutiny

Allen has shown his value. He can't help Payton and Loomis haven't done crap to build the D.

Man you've got the wrong coach needing to be canned.

And no Bradley can't replace the HC
