We all know Joe Alleva gets his ideas from TD. Let's get a binder ready and get Dana Ford hired as the next LSU basketball coach.

He's the current coach at Tennessee State and has that 'it' factor. Last year he was the Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year and Ben Jobe Award winner. Gregg Marshall has hired him three different times as a graduate assistant and assistant coach. He's a good recruiter and his teams play tough defense. He inherited a team that returned one player. One! Two years later they sweep the Cable Car Classic and are playing teams like Duke, North Carolina State (who they took to OT) and Vandy and holding their own.

He also has a charity and entered the dunkcontest at Midnight Madness a year ago.

Its not an official LSU coaching search until we have a backup coach named Dana.

Alleva's "national" search isn't finding it's way into the Ohio Valley Conference. Maybe he'll make it to the state line this time.

Or Kermit Davis.

Edit: Didn't see the other thread about Davis below.

Ford has only been a Head Coach for three years and is currently 34-40 at Tenn. State.

I'll pass.

Raise your standards a little.

LSU can do better than that.............

You must have missed the part where I said he inherited a terrible program that returned one player. He went 5-26 his first year, 20-11 his next year and he's now 9-3 with his losses being Duke, NC State and Vandy.

By the way, he's the same age that Coach K was when he was hired at Duke. The same age as Jim Boeheim when he was hired at Syracuse. A year older than Bobby Knight when he was hired at Indiana. A year older than Brad Stevens when he was hired at Butler and a year older than Billy Donavan when he was hired at Florida. Two years older than John Calipari when he was hired at UMass. Three years older than Dean Smith when he took over at North Carolina.

When you can coach, you can coach.
