We are talking to Applewhite today

Not sure if this is common knowledge but just got a text from a friend who knows(if there is such a thing,lol) that Kiffin broke off talks last night and we are talking with Applewhite today.
Edit- Applewhite part is correct. Kiffin part is not correct. IMO CEO already has this locked up. Again, I have no connections, just things I've heard.

Am I crazy for not getting the Applewhite hype? Wasn't he fired from Alabama and Texas?
I remember the hype around Cam when we hired him after he was fired from his previous 10 jobs. No thanks. Plus I thought it was well known that Applewhite isn't exactly a fan of LSU?

We were talking to Kiffin even though he is under contract to 'Bama and Saban has not granted "access" to any of his assistants for possible talks with other jobs? Really? 'Bama getting ready for the SEC Championship Game and the Head Coach (no matter who it is) allows someone on his staff to talk to a "rival" school about a coaching position at that school? Just sayin....

Alabama was his first coordinator job during Saban's first season there and it lasted only a season. He left for a position spot at Texas. Saban chewed him up at the end of that year.
At Texas, he was not retained from Mack's staff when Strong took over.
