Based on facts, based on what we know now, and what we know of Woodward, it's clear who the next LSU head football coach will be.

1. Even though a Mark Stoops, Campbell, Petersen, Franklin or a Napier would all succeed well at LSU. None represent the name recognition, the statement that Woodward wants to make, they're not the coach that Woodward wants his entire legacy based on. The recent leaks of Stoops and Campbell only help to verify who is not coming, Woodward would never have allowed such a leak.

2. Woodward wants to be assured that the next coach will fit at LSU, that his family will enjoy living in this area of the country, wants a coach that LSU players and recruits will quickly and totally embrace and whose family will embrace LSU.

3. Fisher fits everything Woodward wants, but based on what Fisher has said to the press, it's not him. Based on what my close Aggie friends are saying it's not him. They're not worried. Fisher has everything he wants in Texas, he's about to own the state of Texas recruiting-wise and enjoys his job and his 300 prime acreages all donated to him. And Mel Tucker fits well at LSU but also fits well at Michigan St, he's very close to his AD up there, has everything he wants, and has super-wealthy boosters who would never be outbid.

The only college coaches left out there that fit what Woodward wants and demands are Riley and Aranda. If we know for certain that Riley isn't coming, then LSU's next head football coach will be Dave Aranda. I feel almost certain of this, I just don't feel as certain that Riley is no longer in the picture.

Welcome Coach Riley or Aranda to LSU!

Yeah. Napier. Nice theory. I got to the second sentence before telling you what’s going to happen.

Napier fits part of what Woodward is looking for, but not all.

I have already said from the beginning, these are the only two candidates I want. Aranda is my preference easily.

My hope and prayers are that Aranda has already agreed an will be LSU’s next head football coach after this season.

My Gut tells me it's Aranda and Napier is the fall back. Both will win a championship here

Agreed. One thing to add, Aranda isn’t a guarantee. Napier is next after him.

Sorry to derail yalls thread, but say what now? On top of his salary, boosters just gave this man 300 acres of land? Say what you will about his coaching but thats some damn fine negotiating.

I would be happy with either one. You are correct, either of these coaches will win a championship here

Not sure when it was donated to Fisher, but this brings up one question. Has anyone donated 300 acres or more to Saban in Alabama?

Jimbo Fisher's 300 acres are in W. Virginia. It's his family home, and he owned it long before he became HC at ATM.
