How the frick did we pass on him, and still bring in Orgeron?

Something stinks, all of a sudden

Just a guess...

Alleva would not remove Miles clause. That didn't sit well with him.

Pendergast and O are good friends so this is just simply not true.

Recruiting played a role there. I think Pendergast would probably want to coach the secondary as well. Miles wasn't going to move Raymond.

I think it's simpler than that. Miles had X dollars to make hires, and couldn't get O and CP to agree to combine for X

Maybe my title wasn't clear

Pendergast wanted to bring in his own staff, including Coach O. He was told he couldn't because the assts had signed extentions

So he moves on, we get Steele, then suddenly he gets to bring in Coach O?

Somebodys arse got lit up overnight, with the Steele hire

the standard assistant coach contract that doesn't obligate the school if/when a head coach leaves, retires, or is fired. widely believed to be a factor in Chavis leaving

to think that this would discourage a new assistant from coming in is a reach.

he doesn't have one. Defensive coordinators don't bring in their own staffs. That's the HC's job.

You're both clueless. Stop acting like you know something

Clancy Pendergast is the clear leader in LSU's hunt for a defensive coordinator, but Alabama linebacker coach Kevin Steele is a solid second, sources close to LSU told NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune.

If Pendergast does get the nod, he could bring in Louisiana native Ed Orgeron as defensive line coach

That was from the first story written after Chavis left

Yea, unsubstantiated rumors and speculation. No one really had a clue what was going on and people were just throwing shite on the wall.
