Where is Monte's oxygen bottle, and Orgeron has a wild look in his eyes like he forgot his anti psychosis meds for several days.

Did they show any past highlights of Orgeron in action busting his wife's lip. This is a motly looking crew of misfits. Ain't gonna work.

They may look like anything you want to describe but they will be a pain to deal with in the not to distant future. They will be one of the Top 4 Programs in the SEC in about 3-4 years and will be back to the Tenn of Old. These Coaches are THAT good and everyone will see it as well.

maybe. maybe not.

O's a proven DL coach and recruiter. That is all. Lane and Monte have not proven they can win in today's college atmosphere. We shall see.

So what Lane was doing at USC a couple of years does not mean anything now all of a sudden? Monte Kiffin is one of the greatest Defensive coaches to ever coach the game of football, period. That guy has forgotten more about defensive football and how to develope players than you will ever know in your lifetime. He will have one of the best Defense's in all of College football year in and year out very soon.

Actually Lane has a great Offensive Mind and will have great Offense's at UT once he can get some QB's and WR's there to go with their always strong O Lines that UT has always had. His Father Monte is one of the greatest Minds to ever coach Football at Any level regardless if it's College or Pro.

Lane's going to be going up against some of the best in the business. He's going to be in over his head for a while. When you have to play UGA, UF and Bama every year, that's tough.

Very true points in that it's tough to coach in the SEC Rocket. Why do you think he will be in over his head? What basis do you have for this opinion and thought process?

Youth and inexperience, those are very important traits/characteristics or whatever you want to call them.

He's 33 years old and will be going up against coaches with much more age and experience on him.

He very well may be successful in time, but I can't help but feel it will be rough on him for a while.

He's in the position he's in now because:

1. His last name is Kiffin
2. His agent is Sexton
3. He was a part of USC's success
4. Al Davis is stupid enough/desperate enough to give him that shot in the NFL
5. The potential staff he could put together.

I don't think any other NFL organization would have given him the shot in the NFL that he got. I'm not sure any other SEC program would have hired him, except maybe MSU or Vandy. I'm pretty sure both Minnesota and Clemson both passed him over and I don't tink that was because of lack of foresight by some incompetent administrations. No telling how many other schools passed over him.

He's got a big job for his age. Hell, it was a big job for Fulmer.

Wow! The Kiffen fan club has arrived.

1) Lane had good succes at USC as OC under Petey's direction. It remains to be seen if he can have success as HC without a tutor.

2) Monte has had success in the pros developing the Tama 2. It remains to be seen if he or the Tampa 2 will work in todays SEC, with inconsistent college talent.

3) Monte has forgotten more defense than I know. OK, I'll give you that one.

4) Monte will have one of the best defenses in college footbal year in and year out? We shall see.
