Easiest question I'll get all day - its Saban. No other candidates need to be discussed.

I hope you're being sarcastic.... because he has NEVER (twice) done that

Crazier things have happened but its also Texas

Texas could outbid the hell outta Bama or AU dpfor a coach like Saban or Malzahn whichever they prefer or whichever one will listen...seriously
And the pitch will include its own network, the largest most fertile recruiting state and whatever the hell else the said coach wants
This. However much crimson green might be flowing into North Louisiana and into the midget's bank account, they don't have their own oil wells. The UTw bank account has virtually no peer, unless Phil Knight dumped all of his on more than ugly uniforms for the Ducks. Moreso, I think if anything was to cause him to move, $atin's enormous ego might cause him to consider going to pull his third storied program out of the dumpster to a BCSCG. He has to feel his clock ticking (he really looks to have aged in the past couple of years) and might want to build his legacy in a way that staying in Tuscaloser and continuing to win won't do at this point.

Big12fan would you be happy with Malzahn? Spread HUNH offense?

i could see sabes leaving next offseason if somehow mack finnagles another season, bama drops a game or two and boosters go full retard creating 'clutter' which drives nick apeshit. then again i could see him leaving this year but think its a longshot at best.
edit - just saw this

The contract I've seen discussed is 7 yr 70 mil, and if that's the number and yr total that puts Saban coaching through his 70's
Think about that for a minute if Texas is stupid enough to do that I'd let him walk, what a lot of people don't realize is that Saban has built up a support system that is such at Bama that he delegates almost all the duties now, and from the outset he will sign the best recruiting class he has had at Bama (on the road in La now recruiting to Bama) and here's a shocker...Bama was a nationally known program before Saban and will continue in a few years after he retires and Kirby takes over.

See my last post on the last page. I'm not saying it cause I hate bama. I'm saying it as if it would happen that's why. Still don't think he goes to texas.. I'm at 10%

You don't just let a guy like Saban "walk."

I will honestly be shocked if Saban leaves. I think his age is a factor and his credibility will take another hit if he leaves after saying he wasn't leaving.
Chicken saying hes staying? Saban gone

You can't let a top two CFB coach all time walk.

He never publicly say he wouldn't leave LSU. His one misstep was when he said he wouldn't take the Alabama job while at Miami.
But I'll add him and Meyer to the short list.

I'm Pretty sure he said he loved it in baton rouge and wasn't leaving LSU...

Saban is a perfectionist
Yes.
quote:
and he doesn't have what most coaches would call "complete loyalty".
No one does. See Miles/Arky last year.
quote:
I know you want to think your god is perfect
Saban is a damn good coach. Nothing more.
quote:
would never hurt his crimson faithful, but he would, and deep down you know it.
Deep down I know he will do what is best for him and his.
quote:
More money, more power, thats what guys like him want
That is an awfully broad generalization.
quote:
He's always looking for the next challenge, or the next big thing.
People change as they get older.
quote:
He's a fixer.
A good place to tinker would be with UA's special teams.
quote:
if you think Saban switching schools after this season (not necessarily the one loss) but that expectations are extremely high for him from 90% of your fanbase (admittedly most of which don't post here), and he didn't meet them this season
I don't even know what to make of this.
quote:
things have hit a ceiling, what more can he do at Bama?
Continue to win? Be the first coach to win a playoff?
quote:
It'll never be enough, and if it is enough for him to stay, he will be retiring as coach in less than 5 years.. cause he will get bored.
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on how much each of us know the man.
I feel comfortable saying I don't know the man, therefore making declaratory statements wouldn't be prudent. You feel differently. No biggie.
