Unless we're hiring someone who has a game this weekend, I don't think we have a coach yet

There are currently two assumptions which are accepted as truth on the board:
1. LSU has its guy, and it's been done for weeks.
2. The new hire will be announced by Wednesday (per JV).
Let's stop and think about this for a second - if both of these premises are true, then where is the hire? If the hire was a coach whose season has ended, and it's been done for a while, why wait on an announcement?
We're in that critical time period where every day matters leading in to early signing day. What possible reason could there be to wait until Wednesday to make an announcement?
This is why I'm inclined to believe that one these premises is false, and one of the following statements is true:
- LSU has its coach, but they're coaching this weekend or are in contention for the playoffs, and it won't be announced by Wednesday.
or,
- LSU is still searching, trying to lock in a coach over the next 24-36 hours with an announcement coming by Wednesday.
And if it's the latter...you would have to ask yourself why we're still searching 2 days after the season ended.

We will know when we name a coach.
If it is anyone not in the NFL or not coaching this weekend, we know within it a doubt we have missed on at least one of our top candidates
