Other than Fisher, who else is available who is a proven, successful, top tier head coach. I suppose it depends on how you define "top tier".

If Fisher said no, I can see the reasoning...Herman is unproven. There is no debating that fact.

I'm willing to give O an offseason or two to get everything done his way, and then see where we are.

We pay a $10 million buyout to fire a guy who went 141-55. Then straight up hire a guy who is 21-29

We are a laughing stock

Only time will truly tell but the last time LSU went down this road with Mike Archer it set the program back 15 years.

I dont think it is a bad decision. Coach O is the best recruiter in the business, so the talent level isnt going down. You give the guy a year or two to see what he can do. The team has looked really good with him as coach. they laid an egg against Florida, but even saban lost to shite teams in his first year at both LSU and bama, much worse than Florida.

If he can bring in a good OC, I like the hire. I really think it boils down to Baton Rouge is a shithole and when you have another top school in a better spot, they are always going to get the up and coming candidate over LSU.

He may be successful, but the hiring is a failure.
