Edited to add: he was co-DC and OU's defenses were very good

Ok, if Stoops is a good coach, then he's a bad recruiter. Something was lacking either coaching or recruiting. Or does that fall on the staff before him?

I would take him over brick in a heart beat. Some of his defenses at OU early in his career, were VERY good. With the talent he would have at LSU, i'm sure he would do fine.

Just in case they're listening, I'll take it if offered. I can be bought for only $1.2M!

I have to admit. I'm not very up to date on the OU personnel. But even though his passing defense was horrid this year, making the overall defense pretty crappy, their run D was legit as shite. Maybe the pass D suffered due to players? I mean, Bamas pass D was pretty bad too. If they were in the Big 12 with all the pass happy offenses, where do you think they would have ranked?

their run d was good this year, but their secondary outside of one player, was terrible, which will likely result in their secondary coach being fired. his on the field performance is bad, but his recruiting has been horrible.

Hot damn, forgot about this thread.

Other thing mentioned was he feels confident.

And to everyone saying "duh", he'll be under more pressure in Baton Rouge than he is now. And not coaching under a family member.
