Me too. I wanted that guy as Miles' replacement since we played them last year. I think he would be gold and I think he would come here.

He's a west coast guy though not sure he would come here. He would be a good hire though.

Now, I realize that Mullen may be the only realistic possibility on that list, but I would at least gauge Patterson's interest first.

Call Patterson, have him turn us down. Call Mullen...sign contract. Hopefully we can keep the defensive staff intact.

If they go the Pelini route I might have to sign up a new Maximus themed account and constantly rip Pelini and his bar-b-que buddies until he leaves.

"To those saying gruden, why don't we just get him, then get Sean Payton to be the offensive coordinator and belichick for the defense! WIN!"

I agree and maybe we can get Bill Cowher as the DC.

Pelini wouldn't be high on my list but he wouldn't be as catastrophic as many are making it out to be.

Jimbo Fisher
Pinkel

Jimbo would be easily my first choice and I think we could make that work.

Then a gap to someone like the Oregon OC or Hoke

My NFL coach returning to head coach is not Gruden, not Cowher (those aren't happening). Not Del Rio. I would suggest Steve Mariucci.

Patterson and Peterson are NOT going anywhere.

We'd be on NCAA Probation within 24 months if this hire happened..

Agreed. Then for good measure bring Beamer in for special teams.

Not enough to keep him there if his decision is primarily financial and LSU comes calling.

Hell yeah. We could pay him more than he makes and still save 1 mill from our current situation.

Realistic hires are Pinkel and Pelini. If Petersen shows any interest in the Stanford job, Alleva should make an inquiry. I like Sark but what makes anyone think he wants to leave the West Coast?

NO to Pelini, he has turned into a sideline nut job. He would destroy the great chemistry we have on this team with this great group of men

Pellini would be horrible, and Mullen does not excite me either..

I, for one, don't want Pelini here. Just like I don't want Leach as HC. I don't want to broach the possibility that LSU is a feature on ESPN for our coaches behavior. I just don't want to chance that.

Ask Nebraska fans. They were enchanted with Pelini and now many want him out.

I don't care about Miles's slip-ups at times. He never lost at HOME to Iowa State and he never lost AT HOME to Texas, a team that the Nebraska folks had circled on the calendar for a YEAR and caught them on a 5-7 year. His offense has been less reliable than ours the last couple of years and his team has often played uninspired.

That's all I'll say on Pelini. I know a lot of people would argue with me on him but I'm not going to argue back.

Butch Davis NCAA infractions follow this guy
Chris Peterson a definite take
and
GRUDEN!! a definite if he'd come but you certainly do not allow him to name his brother as coach in waiting unless and until his brother EARNS that right on the field
