wow he didn't hold back
basically said they didn't get any money to recruit and i took it as him saying all their money goes to bball
awesome
*ETA: well after the ending, it sounded like he was also blasting the lack of fan/media support for FB

The guy from the Memphis newspaper that West blasted for writing sarcastic columns wrote a column in today's paper saying that everything West said about the state of the program is spot-on and needed to be said.

That's the way to go out! But he was 100% correct with every single thing he said. Put it this way, if it rains here in Memphis during the week, the U of M football team has to bus over to Christian Brothers High School(my alma mater ) to practice. The U of M's practice facility floods when it rains and their indoor facility, if you can even call it that, is way too small for a team to be able to do anything in. That's a division 1 school that doesn't have the facilities to even practice when the weather turns sour and has to rely on a local high school.
That's just one example too, their weight room is pretty terrible too, and well below standards. Then you can bring up the awesome crowds they've been able to get for the last few years(maybe 2500 in a 65000 person stadium earlier this year when they were the ESPN midweek game vs. ECU). Part of it is the product on the field, but even when they were decent the city didn't support them. So yea Tommy was pretty spot on with his rant yesterday

All this means is the LSU RB's coach Larry Porter will be back in Memphis in 2010

That's what I think too, rumors going around say that Porter has already been here for an interview.
Fred Smith(FedEx) is leading the search committee for the new coach(since his son transferred to U of M at the beginning of the year) and most think he really wants Malzahn.

That was awesome. He makes a very good point and I'm glad he came out and said it in public.
