Contract won't be finalized until after the AAC Championship game per UH AD.

I would say Herman is still at play.

I hope he sticks with the Cougs.
I believe he would restore UGA to annual contention for SEC championships.

Feral makes good points. He has done great his as HC but we've seen that before. Why is Herman getting praised for his OState resume? Is he not just running Meyer's offense who has had successful offenses everywhere he's been? He may be the next great coach but why the infatuation and the want to scoop him up so fast?

With him, the 3rd strong QB dominated the Big 10 title game, Alabama, and Oregon.

Without him he was benched and their offense is floundering with the same nucleus of players.

A. What he did at Houston
B. What he did at OSU and what happened after
C. What he did to the offense without Meyer, in 1 year at Texas State, Rice, and Iowa St. It was a remarkable turnaround for those programs.
D. He is a great recruiter.
E. He is an incredibly intelligent guy and that is evident when you hear him speak.

do a little research.

he's gonna land a top 10 p5 job at some point, anyone that needs a coach right now is in front of the line.

the only reason he would leave houston right now is uga. there are no other jobs he would take right now.

uga is dumb as hell if they hire smart over herman.

I mean sort of. Also lost the best deep threat which made taking the top off a defense easier. Also, it seems OSU finally figured it out (probably too late) by putting up 40+ on a top 5 defense

I think Herman shouldn't be worried about his next job. He has a good one now, and if he does well the next couple, he will get a job he can win huge at. Hell if you're being offered the UGA job (no one I've seen can verify for sure) then you're already in the running for some of the best jobs out there

I agree with this.

Hopefully he stays and takes over after Les retires after next season :crossesfingers:

Doesn't get much better than UGA. It's a high quality job that just doesn't come up very often. If he turned it down, which I have no clue if he was offered or not, he is definitely waiting for a certain job, likely Texas.

This. Georgia continually ranks in the top 3 or 4 in the best recruits. I think the only states that best them are Texas and Florida. Cali is around 4. Then a drop to Louisiana, Bama, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

yup. uga and lsu share a similar situation except georgia puts out a few more blue chippers.

those two programs mirror each other in a lot of ways.

i can't see uga firing richt if they weren't gonna bring in herman or had a serious ace up their sleeve.

fire richt for smart? na. i'd be suprised if they hired smart over herman.

Herman still hasn't signed anything yet.... It's all still on the table for the moment, but the moment is fleeting.

Pretty interesting that Mizzou names Odom HC and then Herman signs the papers the next day. Could be a coincidence or could be there was a disagreement about money maybe?

I heard UH is kicking in some ridiculous cash if he wins the AACCG.

This was definitely written by the university. You can tell because they always add 'tier one' to everything they put out. They can say it all they want, but it won't make it true.
