Alcohol is legal in all 50 states. This notion that we drink more here than in other places is ridiculous. I travel all over the country for work and lots of places drink MORE than we do. Hell, in northern climes there's literally nothing else to do during the winter. So other than Utah and a couple of the Bible Belt states, Sark would be at no greater risk of recidivism here than anywhere else.

This isn't an endorsement of Sark, just a statement that he wouldn't be worse off here because of alcohol than most other places. So scratch that off your cons list.

100% agree. Alcoholics don't need lax liquor laws to help them get booze. That's an absurd notion.

It actually might help that Baton Rouge has a ton of AA members, including our Head Coach.

People talk like Sark is going to roll into Baton Rouge double fisting 2 tall boys.

If he's going to relapse, it wont be because he's coaching in Louisiana

It's not a availability, it's the fact we celebrate inebriation.

Most of the other 49 states know us for women who get hammered and show their goods, and we do nothing to give them anything else to associate us with.

I travel all over the country as well and I totally disagree with your statement. When I'm in LA alcohol is involved in everything we do. There is not a day goes by that after work everybody doesn't get smashed. Every co worker of mine that lives there I would classify as a classic alcoholic.
Hell, ya'll have DRIVE THRU daquiri shops. There is absolutely no laws of where you can drink at Tiger stadium. it blew my mind that you could just walk around campus with a beer in your hand. I guess it's just accepted.
I didn't even mention New Orleans. Why do people visit New Orleans... and it ain't for the scenic beauty. I've watched tons of folks literally falling down drunk in the streets of NO and there is not one public intoxication citation ever handed out.

You may have a point Church Lady.

Or you may just be a prude that wants the government to enforce your narrow world view on everyone else.

Yes, seriously. Now he has been sober with no incidents for a long time. But once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic

Thank you! That's ridiculous. I would say we drink here more like Europeans do.

My sales team includes guys from Boston, New York, Washington State, Colorado, California, Minnesota and Canada. All of them are "bigger" drinkers than I am. They all get drunk most nights we we have meetings and trade shows. I have a couple to be social. At home, I probably only drink once or twice/wk. very few of my friends get hammered on a regular basis.

Yeah, "when in Rome".., at TS or a party, people here drink a lot. Just like everywhere else in the country.

The laws are just way more lax in Louisiana.

Over here in Texas it is way different. Liquor cannot be sold in grocery stores. It has to be sold in liquor only stores that can't be open Sunday and have to close by 9pm all other days. Beer can't be sold on Sunday morning, or any time in a bottle after midnight. Bars can't even sell it after 2 am.

Now having more access doesn't guarantee a relapse, but it makes staying on the wagon that much harder. For the same reason I would think a pothead would have more problems staying sober in Colorado than a state that only has medical marijuana.

I don't know why anyone would have a problem with Sark, since at LSU we are all about second chances.

I'm sure he's learned from his mistakes, can't we just give him a chance??

What? It is literally no harder to get alcohol in LA than anywhere else

You cant convince me going to a liquor store is harder than going to a gas station

LA just isnt retarded about where we can sell alcohol

I've heard lots of rumors about O. But I'm not sure what point you are making.
