Give it time, he'll tear it down. He just started at a lower point at Ole Miss.

We're not saying he cannot improve. And Herman may have flopped. Anything is possible. However, given his body of work over his life we had to pass over a good many more qualified coaches to hire him.

ETA: The problem with using his LSU record as evidence of improvement is that as he was winning those games he was merely a caretaker. He had not hired the coaches, determined the philosophy, etc. We will find out in the coming years if this hire will work out.

Hell yes it's improvement, not just improvement he won 400% more conference games! 4-4 in the SEC is EXATLY what we are shooting for!!

So you are incapable of understanding that 4 sec wins in less than an entire season is better than 3 wins in 3 seasons...and you are calling other people stupid?

Les Miles would've beaten those same 4 teams if he was allowed to finish the year out. Those 4 wins don't say much.

Looks like our QB recruiting will remain poor.

We were a preseason top 5 team.

We returned 18 starters from a 9-3 team.

He won 4 SEC games vs teams with combined 11-21 conference record.

He didn't improve he was just given a MUCH better team.

ETA: OH he also had Dave Aranda as a DC instead of Ed Orgeron so that is a HUUUUUGE improvement,

lol... i really am amazed with each passing day at the lack of reasoning from the CheeriOs.

To answer your question. NO. That does not indicate improvement. Not in the slightest. Take the worst NFL HC of all time, and if you drop him into Belichek's seat tomorrow assuming Belichek gets hit by a bus, I guarantee you the Worst NFL HC of All Time will have better results with the Patriots than he had as a full-time permanent HC.

Let me spell it out for you....

O took over a program that was built in every facet by Leslie Miles. Miles hired the defensive staff, Miles hired the position coaches, etc. Cam Cameron, while his play calling may have sucked (likely thanks to Miles' meddling), could be credited with the system and technique and attention to detail that allowed Orgeron and Ensminger to pick up a machine that was calibrated, just not pointed in the right direction.

It remains to be seen what the Orgeron LSU program will look like. #Binder vs #Reality. And, if you go by the only time in O's history where he's had complete ownership, it could be an utter failure.

it's one of those asinine, saul alinsky inspired, "do you still kick your dog" type questions. It is also based on a total misunderstanding of the criticism of Coach O as full time head coach.

No rational person has ever argued that because Ed O was 10-25, 3-21 at Ole Miss that is record at LSU would be EXACTLY the same. So asking whether he could improve on an avg of 1-7 in the SEC is totally irrelevant.

They have said we are going back to the 90's based solely on his record at a university that doesn't compete with LSU on any level
