lsu tried to hire the big fish. That was the smokescreen.

Now, Joe says. I tried, but they turned us down.

It's become clear when they kept moving the goalposts for O this is what they wanted

I can't believe my initial thoughts were correct. That the university wanted to go cheap, but now they can say "we tried"

Laziest coaching search ever made. I'm not against O. However, it's obvious, in two months, they looked at possibly three coaches and truth be known, only One.

This was a money issue the entire time. they wanted to save money. O was the guy the entire time.

Did PJ fleck turn us down?

Did Gundy turn us down?

Did whittingham turn us down?

Did holgorsen turn us down?

Did Willie Taggart turn us down?

Did Ken Niumatalolo turn us down?

Did Matt Campbell, David Cutcliffe, Pat Fitzgerald, Paul Chryst, Pat Narduzzi, and Mike Macintyre turn us down?

Those are all coaches with better records and better experience and qualifications than the Ogre.

They never looked at anyone else. It was O the entire time. It's about money. They leaked Herman and Jimbo to the media to give the impression they were looking at the big boys.

During the Miles era, the consistently strong part of LSU was defense. Miles hired several good DCs and didn't mess with their defense. But Miles messed with the offense a lot.

Miles background was offense and he couldn't keep his fingers out of the OC's business. Miles couldn't break that habit. Under Miles the offense was good when Miles wasn't messing with it.

Miles was a good recruiter but he was weak on passing and total offense. Miles could have worked around those weaknesses if he would have let his OC do his job without interfering.

Ogre's background is defense. If LSU hires a great OC, there is a good chance Ogre won't mess up the offense like Miles did with OCs. Ogre has a reputation of being a very capable recruiter.

It makes sense. I mean really, who would want arguably the two most brilliant young minds in football on the same staff with Herman and Aranda? That wouldn't work.

Herman didn't turn us down. He called with his bargaining angle trying to hash out a deal and Joe said nope we got our man. Joe has ZERO sense when it comes to negotiating.
