I didn't watch it, I'm a Texas fan. Was having a rough year that year. Lookin forward to having your coach on our winning team!

well, to doc: heard saban has until tonight to sign with them or theyre moving on..
as far as the timeline, tomorrow morning is the meeting of the board of regents to discuss the president's job (related to mack/saban definitely), also tomorrow morning mack brown has a press conference for the alamo bowl, look for him to be hounded with questions.
friday is the day of the banquet for the football players..

That's a difference of 1.5 million a year + NO STATE INCOME TAX.
You should checkout Texas's property taxes. You don't think ppl in Texas get off of paying income taxes without making it up somewhere else did you?

Be nice to Terry and the gal's they are really good people. and leave Nick alone and you will be fine.

property is an asset. paying taxes on an asset is far preferable, especially if you have an 8 figure salary, than paying income tax.

the property taxes aren't nearly as high as an income tax when you're talking about that kind of money

quote:meh. The bad news is that Bama offered a contract extension without knowing what Texas would offer. If Texas told Sexton $9 million privately, and then Bama offers $7, it makes them look bad.
The good news for Alabama is that they're actually in the driver's seat for that one. They just have to be in the general ballpark.

Yeah maybe if Saban bought half of a duplex to live in.

Heard wrong man. Sorry.
Be patient!

2% of a $6 million home (like the one Saban allegedly purchased) is less than 5% of a $7-10 million salary

The property tax rate in Austin, TX is a fixed 2%?
Posted on 12/11/13 at 5:32 pm to TheDoc
That has to be the most original insult I've ever heard. It's like when we see a pompous arse that people just want to either laugh at or punch in the face, we say, he's from Texas.

it's always going to be less than 5%
