And how do you know what kind of real estate deal donor(s) we're going to setup for Saban?

I got it from someone employed by the donor. Its over - let's put it to rest. You guys keep Saban. We have Strong. I'm happy.

Mr. Insider, which choice was Strong? 3 or 4, or lower?

This thread makes me laugh. The OP accuses the UTw fan base of extreme delusional arrogance and in response one of them shows up and totally confirms it.

Are you really? The guy is a good coach but he's the antithesis of a splash hire, is brining over his staff from Louisville instead of using y'all's money to buy top coordinators, and he is hemorrhaging recruits and replacing them with scrubs from Florida that UF, FSU, and Miami didn't want.

Splash hire? How long does the splash last? The entire Lville staff is not coming to Texas, nobody is complaining about getting the DC for the number 2 defense in the country. Which scrub recruits from florida have commited to UT?

He was choice # 1 of Powers & Patterson. No one else was officially offered. Only Shaw of Stanford showed no interest in he job after 2 or 3 attempts thru his agent. Now, if you want a priority list of the boosters, Strong was down the list.

Long enough to solidify the departing coach's recruiting class, add a couple of studs, and carry some momentum and excitement into the team's off-season locker-room psyche. None of which Strong has done.

None, yet, he's still battling UCF and USF for a DT so UT doesn't end up 0-fer in DT recruits two years running!

Texas isn't getting Lville's OC so the question is irrelevent.

He been on the job for 4 days. Should he have done all of he above in that amount of time?

While reading this I got a vision from Der Untergang of the Fuehrer re-arranging armies on the battlefield that no longer exist, plotting to win the war as bombs level Berlin. You've reached that level of self-delusion.

Sumlin snatched a DT from you guys last night who he didn't even really want, only because he could, just to dick-slap Strong, y'all's 12th or 13th choice, on his 3rd day on the job. That's the real world outside the bunker.

Sumlin:
1. Solidified loyalty from Sherman's soon-to-be seniors and assured they were coming back
2. Solidified Sherman's recruiting class
3. Added a couple a great recruits

Strong: lost every DT in his class

Well hell, why didn't you just say so. The employee of a delusional booster is about as solid of a source as there is. Information leaked by boosters has been so spot on through this whole ordeal.

I'm not sure you can just put delusions of grandeur to rest. I'm going to guess it'll probably take years and years of therapy to put that bad boy to rest.

Look, I know I'm busting your chops pretty good here. But I'm just trying to get the point across that UT is not the end all coaching job that you guys seem to think it is. Is it an excellent school with top notch resources in an excellent location for recruiting...absolutely. But you guys have some major issues going on right now at the highest levels of your school, from the BORs, to the big money booster, to you president. Heck, even the govenor of your state is trying to oust your regents and president. Most people love money, but they also hate everybody and their grandma trying to control their program. There is a reason why a school with your advantages only has a handful of NCs, when it should be in the neighborhood with ND & Bama.

Wow, so Sumlin is recruiting players he doesn't want? Folks have said that A&M is overpaying for him - maybe they are right. Maybe the player he doesn't want will help him win a conference championship that he doesn't want.

Best of luck to the new Coach February.

You really don't know that you're talking about so you should just stop. The Governor appointed all of he regents at UT. And now he's trying to get rid of them? Ignorance isn't a considered a strong point in a debate.

Cooter, once Points left, the need for another DT was there. With only 2 nose tackles returning, Henderson was a huge target of opportunity.

I worded that wrong. He was trying to get the regents to oust the president (I'm pretty sure the regents voted to keep Powers last month) in order to change the focus of the academic direction of the school.

Here is one article that talks about it: LINK
