Where are these top QB and WR recruits he's brought in at?

Mike leach couldn't handle the pressure of the SEC, he hates boosters, he hates media, he would melt down every week

I love the guy. I think he would wreck shop if he could get top tier talent.
But no way will LSU offer him the job. He would be a terrible fit culture wise. We would go from running the ball too much to not running at all. And I think Leach is still unfairly tainted by what happened to that kid. You know, the one whose father murdered all those hookers while he was at SMU.

he would be a handful, that's for sure. he used to coach in the SEC. remember tim couch?

yeah, that was all mike leach. tim couch was a 1st round NFL draft pick.

Oh, I know. I have his book. And he tells stories that will crack you up. One of my favorites is the one he tells about traveling to Tiger Stadium when coaching with Hal Mumme at Kentucky. He's a real 'character', and brilliant.

Look how he is tearing the game up this year. A sure bet for the playoffs and the odds on favorite to win it all!

Leach is at WSU, they are the bottom feeders of the PAC 12. Same as when he was at Texas Tech. Look at the talent he has to work with and what he has accomplished. It's not like Leach was at Texas or Oklahoma as HC or at USC, Oregon or Arizona. And when he was in the SEC he was at Kentucky.

Are you really saying that if Leach was at school with real talent like Alabama, Florida, or LSU he'd suck? Leach would dominate with real 1st tier talent. And I'm in B4 you crap on his recruiting. The dude is at WSU, not a traditional powerhouse. Why do you think Saban chose to go to Alabama? I'm sure he could've gone to Kentucky or Vandy for more of a challenge.

Face it, we need to shake things up. I know Leach is opinionated and rubs people the wrong way and does things his own way, which is why he'd never get hired at LSU, but if he were to be HC at LSU we would dominate.

This can't recruit a RB nonsense if bs. Miles barely passes always has a special-ed QB yet how many awesome receivers decide to come to LSU. Miles recruits loads of them. I'm sure Leach would be able to recruit some quality RB's who would rather win than be the focus of the offense.

Leach gave Kentucky an offense and turned around two 2nd tier schools. He can win here for sure.

All the love for Jimbo and Kirby Smart I don't get. More of the same old same old. Chip Kelly would be a move in the right direction.

You're out of your mind if you think we can land a playoff HC. Sure Saban's coming back. Oh Meyer is gonna dump Ohio State or maybe you think Brian Kelly will leave Notre Dame for LSU. Right!

I can't believe how delusional most LSU fans are, we are not the best job in the country. We're only 4th in the SEC aftr Bama, Florida and Georgia, not to mention USC, ND, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma. We are more on par with a post pedophile Penn State but without the stigma.

The position that LSU would not be able to recruit elite rb's in a leach offense is crazy. The whole rub with miles is he fails to coach his players and here is a guy who takes a roster of 2 and 3 star recruits into a competitive team yet there is fear top recruits will not come? Makes no sense when the whole of college football, even the SEC, is becoming pass first, run second. Leach would be on my short list because he coaches his players up and he could recruit Texas....

I hear what you're saying. Briles is an innovator, too. I'm just not liking their ages. Someone like Larry Fedora is of the same caliber as far as offense goes. You can add Rich Rodriguez to this list, too- if you can tolerate his foul language (doesn't bother me) Here's a few more with age on their side: Chip Kelly, Mark Helfrich- all offensive innovators. Speaking of coaches, here's a few more who could probably turn this ship around: Mark Hudspeth, Dave Doeren, Matt Campbell. You could argue experience with a couple of these guys, but so far they're winning that argument.

He gave the top teams in the Big XII fits but he rarely beat them when it counted.

I'm sure the massive talent differential had nothing at all to do with that...

Fan base would never be patient enough to wait for Leach's system to set in.

Doesnt take long when you have talent to do so. Leach boasts he can install his offense in 3 days.

He'd have the same problem here. Only a born and bred LSU loving defensive prospect would want to play for an LSU team coached by him. He cares 0% about that side of the ball.

1) There are more than enough of those in La to field a damn strong defense, and even if it's not an elite one, we'd score enough that it wouldn't matter. But we can still have an elite one because...

2) He doesn't have to care about that side of the ball. It's not like there's a salary cap that he'd blow on offense. We'd just have to hire a top-notch DC, which we should be doing anyway...instead of giving a home to Bama's leftovers.

How many National Championships have been won by a coach who's philosophy is "score so many it doesn't matter how bad the defense is". Those kinds of coaches are perfect for lower tier schools in major conferences which is where Leach has had his success.

For the life of me I can't figure out what this crazy arse loon did to garner so much love from LSU people.

1- He has never won anything of any significance
2- He has no track record as a strong recruiter
3- He is nuts!

He's a lot of things but he's not "nuts".

Check the rankings: his team will be ranked higher than LSU in November. Ranked 21 in AP right now and LSU is unranked
