Yeah, he basically fixed the tools of what Tom o brien didn't teach.( my dads a BC alum, so if your wondering how I know all this)

Every good QB has natural talent a.k.a "tools". Matt Ryan had them before Logan got there. Unfortunately for Ryan, he wasn't gonna be a top 5 pick in the draft unless a QB coach like Logan coached him up a little bit.

Ryan's junior year: 2939 yards, 15 TDs

Ryna's senior year (Logan was OC this year): 4507 yards, 31 TDs

Logan did his job: he made a talented QB better.
If he could come in and run an effective pro-style offense while coaching up our QBs, he will have earned his pay.

If Dana and Steve are serious candidates than that would be great.

Yes. Ryan also had 19 Ints but keep in mind BC doesn't produce NFL WRS like they do with their o-line.

He did throw a lot of Interceptions that year. The year before, he threw 10 interceptions, and had about 200 less attempts. Completion % and YPA stayed about the same. QB rating increased marginally after Logan became OC.

Did he really coach him up if all that really changed was the # of pass attempts? Ryan was hurt most of JR year but still managed to be all-acc. It wasn't like this was some guy whose talent was wasting away and then all of a sudden it clicked when Logan showed up.

So most of the difference between his jr and sr year was that he threw the ball more? Interesting. Never really broke it down like that. Thanks for the note.

The difference is this...

JR year= ultra conservative, play not to lose under Tom O'Brien. Took less chances.

SR year= He had a gunslinger mentality, after Brett Favre gave him a few calls.

Logan called the plays at ECU.

Know anything else from his tenure at ecu, sophandros? Offense style, stats, etc. Thanks.

There aren't many examples in history of a guy being a "nobody" and then miraculously turning into an NFL top 10 pick.

You have to have talent to do things well. No coach can win without talent.

With LSU's talent level, I think Logan could have a ton of success.

Don't know much about Logan at ECU other than he made them respectable, and was the QB coach there. David Garrard is another NFL QB he coached.

My point was that he wasn't a Carson Palmer where you figured the guy was just never going to get it and then all of a sudden a new coach came along and it clicked. Ryan was already a very good QB when Logan came along. I'm sure Logan helped him some, but no one should ever give Logan credit for developing Matt Ryan.

You could say that about a lot of coaches though. Look, I wouldn't be upset if Logan got the job, I just don't think he should be at the top of the list.

so without Logan you still think he is a top 5 pick?
