Arguably the top 2 schools with the most resources couldn't land big fish. Texas settled with Strong and UF failed miserably with Muschamp. Now they're about to hire a relatively unknown guy with a few years of head coaching experience in the Mountain West Conference. Nebraska failed with Pelini. Michigan made the ultimate WTF hire with Hoke. What make LSU different from those jobs? In fact, we may be worse off because we'd have Alleva leading the search.

For all the hand-wringers out there who are afraid of what will happen if Miles leaves: you DO understand that Les Miles is not Almighty Zeus, right? He's not going to be here forever. We WILL eventually have to replace him.

You do get that, right?

You people don't understand Louisiana football
we produce more talent than any other state
with only one school going after it. Huge Advantage NFL rated talent.

LSU will make a good coach Great!
and average coach good!

I like Patterson or Mark Hudspeth from ULL back to back Bowl games at ULL and
he know Louisiana High School Football

I don't want Miles gone.

It's really scary of who would actually be available and as successful.

it's easy to say these coaches all have better offenses, but running a program in general.

I don't think you know what a spinoff is.

Honestly, can't think of anybody.

All the coaches being named are not feasible. They are in good spots.

And the last two were homerun hires, yet relative unknowns.

People seem to forget that.

no kidding.

and before people get fixated on records and such of those candidates, they seem to forget that miles was only 28-21 before coming to LSU. so it's not like he was some kinda smashing success.

Others have had that talent, but nobody has done as much with it as Les Miles.

I would assume Hudspeth would probably be the most likely option.
