Someone please explain to me why Herman's camp would leak

He already has the leverage to tell LSU that he's waiting out to see what Texas does. I don't see any reason why he would want this story making waves the night before he addresses his team for the last time, I mean that's not awkward or anything. So can someone clue me in on what he stood to gain? Otherwise it is abundantly clear that Texas people caught wind of what was happening and are trying to throw a wrench in the plan to make one last shot for him.

He didn't leak; some butthurt Texas booster who knew the situation with Herman leaked it in an attempt to light a fire under the university's asses because he knew Herman was gone otherwise

Easy. Look at what is happening dude. If the story wasn't leaked, nothing would be happening. Now UT is desperate and the stakes have been raised. He just negotiated a raise for himself.

I think it's likely that his agent told UT that he accepted an LSU deal. Maybe to get more money, maybe as a courtesy (probably the former). Either way, I believe UT leaked the info.

Like I said, he already has all of the bargaining power. He can play Texas and LSU off of one another without a leak like this, he just tells LSU that he's waiting on Texas and he tells Texas that they need to shite or get off the pot.
